Pro-Pain and Acaro Sign With Goomba Music

Chicago independent record company, Goomba Music announced the signing of the legendary hardcore band PRO-PAIN and Boston based metal band ACARO.

Goomba Music will release the new PRO-PAIN album entitled "Straight To The Dome" in North America on September 25, 2012. The new album was recorded at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden, Switzerland and produced by V.O. Pulver.
Aggressive, meticulous, passionate, righteous - all distinguishing traits that have come to symbolize the fundamentals of metal/hardcore pioneers PRO-PAIN. Since their crushing 1992 NAIRD nominated debut album "Foul Taste Of Freedom", PRO-PAIN have become a staple in the diets of heavy music listeners around the globe. Their successful and enviable career has perpetually prospered throughout its course, and yet they still manage to find room to improve, and more importantly, impress.
Band front man Gary Meskil states, "We intended to make an old school PRO-PAIN album with this one, and I think that this is perhaps our most sonically brutal effort since “The Truth Hurts”.  Having said that, the album does have a few tasteful melodic moments here and there, which in my opinion contribute to its depth and diversity".
Boston’s ACARO has also joined the Goomba family and the label will release the band’s debut “The Disease of Fear” worldwide on October 2, 2012. The band has issued the following statement, “We are proud to announce that Acaro has joined the Goomba Music family! The partnership will start off with the release of The Disease of Fear worldwide through E one distribution, on Oct 2! We are very happy, and proud to make this announcement and excited to keep pushing ourselves and our music to its limits and beyond! Much love to you all!”

SCUM OF THE EARTH is invading America in support of the August 28 worldwide release of THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT on the Chicago-based Goomba Music, Inc. label (with distribution through eOne in North America).  Joining singer/guitarist/band mastermind RIGGS on the trek is bassist Nick Mason (who doubles as a tattooist at RIGGS’ Monster Tattoo shop in Branson, MO), guitarist Virus (who also plays guitar in Dope) and drummer Eddie Travis.  A trailer for the tour can be seen  below.

The first single, “The Devil Made Me Do It III,” was released last month and was heard during the New Jersey Devils’ Stanley Cup playoff games.  It was recorded at the Mansion Studio in Branson, MO by RIGGS and Brandon Mashburn (Trust Company, The Dreaming).  A video for the song was recently shot in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at The Native Village, which is where part of “Jackass 3D” was filmed.  Directed by Tim King (SOiL bassist and Director of A&R at Goomba Music, Inc.), viewers get exactly what they expect (and more) from SCUM OF THE EARTH, including live snakes, RIGGS in an alligator pit, zombie voodoo girls, fire breathers, lots of blood, and wild animals.  The clip can now be seen below.

Meanwhile, fans who purchase a CD copy of THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT(AVAILABLE DIGITALLY, TOO?) will have access to a coupon for a free SCUM OF THE EARTHdevil tattoo at Monster Tattoo.  As RIGGS exclaims, “It’s their chance to bankrupt me!”

WYKKED WYTCH Release Cover of METALLICA's "Fade To Black"

With their newest album, The Ultimate Deception, coming out next week (Tuesday, February 14th) WYKKED WYTCH have unleashed their uniquely extreme take on the METALLICA classic, "Fade To Black." The song can be accessed via SoundCloud at this location or belowThe Ultimate Deception has been praised for "being both raw and intelligent piece of extreme music" (Metal-Temple.com) and was rated  "10/10" by Germany's Time-For-Metal.eu. Pre-orders are currently available through Goomba Music.

WYKKED WYTCH has signed with Goomba Music for the release of their upcoming fifth full-length album,The Ultimate Deception. Coming back strong off 2008's Memories of a Dying Whore - the group's most successful and critically-acclaimed album - The Ultimate Deception continues where the previous album left off and continues to push the boundaries of extreme music as well as the legacy of WYKKED WYTCH.

Led by the demonic vocal assault of frontwoman Ipek, Wykked Wytch is a female-fronted extreme metal band hailing from South Florida. The band blends a unique mixture of black, death, thrash metal with melody, technicality, and aggression to create their own signature sound which has gained them a strong cult following throughout the world.

Regarding the recent signing and forthcoming release, Ipek made the following comments, "We are very excited and proud to announce that Wykked Wytch has signed with Goomba Music for the release of our fifth full-length album The Ultimate Deception.  Over the past two years we worked really hard creating a modern metal masterpiece and with Goomba behind us we will spread the word worldwide. We would also like to thank Mark & the crew at Goomba for this new partnership. It was the right choice for us and glad to know there is an experienced team of industry vets behind the label that respect the integrity of their artists. Look out for the new album The Ultimate Deception out in 2012 with lots of touring to follow!"

The Ultimate Deception marks the addition of lead guitarist / songwriter Nate Poulson to the group. Always determined to break new ground and discover new talent, frontwoman/founder Ipek has teamed with Nate, who composed nine badass tunes that add a whole new dimension and flavor to the band's constantly evolving sound. Taking a modern approach to the group's already established sound, the songs are heavy, technical, and melodic with each one standing on its own. Showcased on this release are vocalist Ipek's true abilities that drive the album.

Not afraid to take chances, Ipek doesn't hold back and has stepped out of her comfort zone; moving from death growls to high pitched screams to operatic, and clean catchy choruses in the course of a single song. The intense and insane vocals are performed by "one" woman, not three different vocalists. Also featured is one of the best drummers in metal today, Kevin Talley (Daath, Six Feet Under, Chimaira) who appears as a session musician compliments the songs with his killer double bass and blast work. The album was recorded in April/May 2011 at Lambesis Studios in San Diego, CA with amazing production from engineer Daniel Castleman (As I Lay Dying, Winds of Plague), who recorded & mixed. Finishing touches were handled by Alan Douches (The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Black Dahlia Murder), who mastered at West West Side Music in New Windsor, NY. Cover Artwork by Marcelo Vasco (Dimmu Borgir, The Faceless). The Ultimate Deception includes 10 tracks with a running time of 47 minutes. 9 original tracks and a cover of Metallica's "Fade To Black".

Goomba Music Raids Pharaoh's Tomb To Unearth Lost NILE Recordings

With four critically acclaimed albums, a few EPs and several world tours under their belt, Nile has raised the bar for extreme metal bands musically, lyrically and conceptually. Their withering live performances are nothing short of legendary.

Formed in 1993 by Karl Sanders (guitar/vocals), Chief Spires (bass/vocals), and Pete Hammoura (drums), Nile wasted little time combining their interest in Egyptian history, culture and lore with the ferocity of modern death metal. Using a symphonic approach to songwriting and arrangement, Nile unleashed an uncompromising attack that fused unique, technical death metal with organic Middle Eastern tones. Their unique lyrical approach was inspired by Sanders' interpretation of ancient Egyptian inscriptions, temple carvings, papyri, hieroglyphics and tomb paintings depicting ancient battles, rituals and religious ceremonies. Each following year brought a new recording, which marked a large step forward in their musical evolution.

Recorded in 1994, Worship The Animal set the tone for what would become one of extreme metal's most popular bands.
