In just under a month, GAYTHEIST will embark on a quick 4 date west coast tour with fellow Portland heavy rock enthusiasts Drunk Dad (Eolian Empire). The brief jaunt features four high caliber shows with Wild Throne (formerly Dog Shredder) joining the fun in Seattle and most notably Kowloon Walled City making a rare appearance on the San Fran stop. Check out the dates below:

2/20 - Seattle, WA at Chop Suey w/ Wild Throne, The Great Goddamn
2/21 - Portland, OR at Information Warehouse w/ Nasalrod, Raw Nerves
2/22 - Arcata at Alibi
2/23 - San Fran at Helmlock w/ Kowloon Walled City, Hornss

In other GAYTHEIST news, the band has been confirmed to appear at the 2014 edition of Boise's Treefort Festival on March 21st along side a slew of up and coming heavy bands including SubRosa, Uzula, and Hooves. More details can be found at treefortmusicfest.com.

The latest sucker punch with a smile from GAYTHEIST entitled "Hold Me...But Not So Tight"  (released May 2013 and the 2nd full length released on Good to Die) stirred up a whirlwind of buzz and excitement from the blogs and critics of the world, including Exclaim!, who rightly notes the trio's "strong grooves and deep hooks," and Willamette Week, which proclaimed the Portland band one of the city's Best New Bands, noting that their "sonic onslaught is spiked with lyrics that mix political statements with biting sarcasm."

Gaytheist unleash music video for "Stomach Pains" Directed by Whitey McConnaughy

We're beyond stoked to announce the release of the first music video from Gaytheist! The clip, for the song "Stomach Pains," was cooked up by famed video and commercial director Rob "Whitey" McConnaughy (ZZ Top, OFF!, Red Fang), and we daresay it is his most, um, nourishing work yet. Check it out here and see for yourself.

If you have yet to check Gaytheist's latest album Hold Me...But Not So Tight, an LP that Willamette Week described as "warp-speed thrash" and Sputnik Music adored for its "strong grooves, memorable hooks and unexpected flourishes," get in touch already and we'll hook you up.

And if you're in Portland, get yourself to Rontoms on August 25th, when Gaytheist will be tearing the roof off the place in support of Magic Mouth. We've got more news of an impending tour to come...so stay tuned.

Portland's GAYTHEIST share new album details! Release digital single for "MANhattan"!

Good to Die Records are thrilled beyond all measure to announce the release of Hold Me...But Not So Tight the new album by power (bottom?) trio Gaytheist. Set for a worldwide release on May 21st - on vinyl, of course - the new full-length finds the three-piece staying the course with an abundance of punchy riffage, huge drums, and Jason Rivera's arch, limp-wristed take on life and love.

Gaytheist recorded Hold Me... in a whirlwind session earlier this year at Interlace Audio with Stealth Beats producer Stephan Hawkes. Don't let the brevity of their efforts give the impression that the album will sound rushed
and half-assed. Rather, it's a testament to the tight musicianship between front man and guitarist Jason Rivera and his crack rhythm section Nickolis Parks (drums) and Tim Hoff (bass). Gaytheist is as lean and mean as ever on these 12 songs.

GAYTHEIST announces more NW shows; "Stealth Beats" out now

Portland trio Gaytheist has just unleashed Stealth Beats via Seattle's Good To Die Records. The album is 12 tracks and 23 minutes of pummeling yet melodic punk-metal that Spin.com has hailed as "combining the howl of the Jesus Lizard with the pop-leaning mania of Torche to thrilling effect". Willamette Weekly has also jumped on the high-praise bandwagon saying "Gaytheist is a trio that rips rock music apart like a paper shredder, and does so with infectious and gleeful abandon. Fans of Black Elk, Scratch Acid, and all manner of hard-edged metal deconstruction will find plenty of bile to swish between their teeth.”

It's safe to say people are excited about Gaytheist, and for excellent reason. The bands third (first on Good to Die) and most crushing album to-date, Stealth Beatsis now available on vinyl and digital formats, and you can find it streaming in its entirety on the band's official Bandcamp page RIGHT HERE.
