Runar Funeralheart and Andy Amin, two old friends that together shared a vision, that vision was Beyond the Morninglight and now it’s a passion, a strong bond between two friends united by rock and roll. Beyond the Morninglight aren´t the usual rock band, they spread the dark sound of Norway influenced by its depressive atmosphere that creates the perfect environment for the gloomy/doom and melancholic music. Despite this feeling of sadness and loneliness getting hold of us, the welcoming, warm and beautiful melodies make you reach emotions that sometimes are sleeping inside of you.
“Liberation” is the name of BTM new album and since their last work they really have matured and their creativity has taken a new step towards their growth. This release is about the cycle of life, the life of a man in all its glory that loses control and enters in a sea of solitude till the end of his time and the fading of the light.
Runar Funeralheart singer and lyrical poet leave us caught up in his story, the way he can express his feelings and emotions and his deep, calm but sordid voice elevate the music to a higher level, full of energy. Is quite evident that the environment of his dark home (Norway) influence his whole being, with its vast landscapes and winter sky and all the energy that surrounds the silent and vast nature.
Daniel Vrangsinn (Carpathian Forest, Vrangsinn, Misantrof) was the producer, mixer and engineer of BTM “Liberation” and his touch contributed for the best expansion of the work and emphasized all the emotions in this story creating a journey you must experience. By Pedro Ribeiro
From Norway, some warmer sound, yet colder and darker than ever.
Their new album titled "LIBERATION" is a milestone. An artistic milestone. The band's creativity really blossomed, crafting this superb concept album, based upon the downfall of a young man in his prime, all through his decadence, until his end, and the dyed black day of his funeral.
The story is told as seen from the eyes of Runar Funeralheart, singer and lyricist of the band, who really feels all the life, all the air, all landscapes and all the death surrounding him, and can transform all those sensations into little creatures he likes to take care of, like children to feed, watch over and grow up into massive songs, so full of energy, soul and deepest emotions. Extremely influenced by those grey winter skies of Norway, with those silent vast lands inspiring loneliness and melancholy, Runar and Andy of Beyond The Morninglight simply reach a deeper, also higher, level of introspectiveness. Their creativity is Norwegian air breathed in and released back out in form of gloomy melodies, endless mellotron driven sensations, dark atmospheres, and such a shrouding feeling never felt before.
The final twist, came from the contorted visions of Daniel Vrangsinn (Carpathian Forest, Vrangsinn), who managed to inject some further cold blood inside the veins of this doomy opus, bringing the sounds to its best level, offering you a deeper journey into the process of releasing the pain, the end of suffering, the final Liberation.
Runar, states, talking about this last effort: “The lyrics is what really takes the toll on me... I have to write and rewrite for weeks in solitude to get in whatever state to bring the shit. But people seem to enjoy them, they seem to connect somehow”.

PLAAG's
second EP titled "IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES" is the natural follow up to
the full length album "UGH!" released on Misantrof ANTIRecords in 2011.
This is hellish rock'n'roll just like you would except from this
notorious band. This release also introduce the new member "NEGATIV" on
vocals. Together this duo sounds better than ever.
Mastermind Somber Von Plaag, states, talking about this last effort: "IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES" Ep is a collection of 6 songs each dealing with misanthropy in their own way, both NEGATIV and me approached the subject from various angles ranging from sarcasm to a more serious view on the matter.
"IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES" rocks so hard.Musically the EP feels
like a natural evolution of their first release. Their sound is nasty,
ironic, catchy and as raw as it could be, setting it as a superb example
of how black metal can be taken down to its rock 'n' roll roots.
The great news on
"IRONIC TWISTS AND TALES" is the new additional vocalist and songwriter
Negativ, taking the whole project to a higher and nastier level. Negativ
strikes down from the cradle of Black Metal, Norway, and he gives this
extra touch of frozen freelings typical of scandinavian black metallers.
Behind the switches and
amps there are two further geniuses: FREDRIK FALK, who also fought the
obscure battles side by side with NATTEFROST on the ‘KREFT’ EP took care of the mixing, while the mastering was superbly crafted by DANIEL VRANGSINN of CARPATHIAN FOREST, VRANGSINN, etc.
Both provided PLAAG with the spot on sound to make this band
sounding the way it should meant to be, the way the artist had in mind.
These for dark damned souls are looking forward to work togheter in the
the future, because what they can spawn is absolutely infernal.

It was in an unknown place in September 2009 that an entity, Somber, took over a painter in Belgium and one that would become the first song of "Ugh!", Plaag debut album, was born "Somber´s out". The beginning of Plaag goes back to when Misantrof ANTIRecords hosted Somber.
Somber is a sarcastic entity that uses music as a mean to show weaknesses of being human, the entity discloses the irony of human existence that breeds and proliferates in mass their race towards extinction by overloading our only home, planet Earth, by exploring too much its limited resources, by not being aware that the truth remains immobile even before their own eyes, the revenge of Mother Nature, the destruction. Somber faces the system that opposes against difference, against truth, against the cruel reality of the failure of the human species.Somber claims that in the beauty and perfection of the human being as dominant endowed with intelligence, there is only error and imperfection however this is what makes us human. Misanthropy, human failures, deaths, murders, mass consumption, religion, everything that is part of man and his culture, or simply what makes any part of an individual are themes explored in the songs of Plaag, always through sarcasm.
"Ugh!" Is a strong word that is well related to the messages that Plaag pass to their listeners, "Ugh" reveals an attitude of rebellion against what we disagree, is a shout against oppression, stupidity, against what it is morally wrong, that goes against our ideals.
Plaag is now a project of two men who reveal hard work, intelligence and consciousness, allied to knowing how to make good music, Negativ, second singer and creative associate of Somber, creates an extra dimension in this sarcastic work.
I'm currently sitting at the front of the computer writing this review while listening to the blasting songs yet to come out of the "Ironic Twists And Tales" EP of Plaag and the headbanging is inevitable , their rock and roll riffs are heavy, fast and full of rhythm and the black atmosphere of the hoarse voices make Plaag a unique band with a lot ahead, with plenty to explore. I bow to these artists by their creative rock and roll style with black metal influences, it is different and it works flawlessly, its music full of energy to lovers without fear of joining new art forms, new sounds, and attitudes against the rotten society. When i think of denunciation, when I think of sarcasm, when I think of heavy underground concerts, I think certainly in one word only... Plaag.
We expect that the possible problems with the editorial release of "Ironic Twists And Tales" be resolved quickly, the music market needs of "Ironic Twists And Tales," people with good taste need "Ironic Twists And Tales", the fans ask "Ironic Twists And Tales", the creator needs to see the birth of its ... "creation" named "Ironic Twists And Tales."

A new video of Turkish black metallers "Episode 13" has just been made available online for the song "Ignorance Is Bliss".
