Power Theory will world premiere today a new track "Cut and Run" from the forthcoming full length album "Driven by Fear" on WVOX - NY WVOX.com
The track features the new lineup of "BB" Ballinger on Guitar, Alan D'Angelo on Bass, Nygil Hoch on Guitar, Jeff Rose on Vocals, and Lorin Savadove on Drums.
Power Theory will kick off a 15 city US tour on 10/01/13 in Webster Hall in NYC in direct support of Vicious Rumors and Seven Witches.
Power Theory would like to announce that Drew Foster will be stepping back in his role as bassist due to constraints and commitments of his job. Drew will always be a member of the Power Theory family and available to fill in for shows if the need arised, and continue to work on a side project with guitarist BB Ballinger.
"We are also very pleased to announce Alan D`Angelo (Livesay, ex Sleepy Hollow) will be taking over duties as Power Theory bassist for Warriors of Metal IV - Open Air and the fall "Metal Masters Tour " with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, Seven Witches, and Power Theory`s support role starting 10/03/13 in our home town, Philadelphia, and the forthcoming "Driven By Fear" final recording sessions. Alan is a kick ass bass player and has great stage presence."
"Unfortunately we will have to cancel our 6/22/13 date with label mates Widow and good friends Infernal Opera at Mojo 13 in Wilmington, Delaware to prepare with Alan for our Warriors of Metal IV set in Ohio, on 6/29/13, but will attend to support the bands, and rest assured we will be in top form for our scheduled set at WOM IV.", said BB.
Pure Steel Records Artist, Power Theory from Philadelphia, PA, has announced Jeff Rose (Livesay, Present Darkness), from NYC as new Lead Vocalist and member. " I have followed Jeff from the NY/Phila Metal scene for a few years now and we have mutual friends in the scene, Jeff contacted us via our publicist Susi "Rocket Queen" Mueller " said guitarist Bob Ballinger. "We had a few really talented vocalists contact us about the open position over the last few weeks but Jeff stood out the most with his detailed breakdown of the material we asked him to learn and constant communication, and he basically nailed our live set in 6 days." Ballinger added "Jeff brings a new dimension to the band with his power and range." Now with Jeff Rose on Vocals and Nygil Hoch on Lead Guitar, Power Theory presently has the strongest line-up since its creation and will play a warm-up show at Mojo 13 in Claymont, Delaware with Pure Steel label mates Widow on June 22nd for Warriors of Metal VI Open Air, Warriors of Metal IV open Air on June 29th. Then the band will return home to the studio to complete the album "Driven by Fear" with Executive Producer, Peter Baltes (Accept), Matt DiFabio (Single Bullet Theory) as Producer and Engineer, and Carlos Alveraz (ShadowDance) as Mix Engineer, prior to leaving for their dates on the Metal Masters Tour with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, and Seven Witches in October.
Power Theory has parted ways with vocalist Dave Santini, citing musical differences as the main issue. A new vocalist and guitarist will be announced in the next week for the forthcoming Warriors of Metal Festival, CD Release and fall tour dates with Vicious Rumors, Leather Wolf, and Seven Witches. "We thank Dave for his run with the band and wish him the best in the future." Adds the band.
Pure Steel Records artist, Power Theory, have released the following information and a brief video regarding their forthcoming 3rd CD release that’s planned for a 4th Quarter 2013 release. Founder Bob “BB” Ballinger has announced the CD will be titled “Driven by Fear” and the band is recording at a new studio with Matt DiFabio (Single Bullet Theory, Hard Attack Entertainment) as Engineer and Associate Producer and Peter Baltes (Accept) overseeing the project as Executive Producer. Matt’s home studio is a guitar sound mecca with an endless choice of amp heads.
The new cover art work has been completed by Timo Wuerz (www.timowuerz.de) from Germany who has worked with Halloween and Steel Assassin.
“We are 5 songs in with guitars and Matt has helped us create some amazing guitar tones, as we are pushing for this album to be much heavier sounding without losing our traditional metal sound and dynamics. That’s where Peter’s experience and excellence will be present by making sure we maintain the integrity of our style and stay true to the metal.”
Ballinger also noted that the band welcomes Drew Foster as their new bassist. Drew has been involved with Power Theory for 4 years now with photography, video, web design, and cd layouts, and has been along for every step of the way so far. Drew is a rock solid bassist.
Look forward to more video updates to come soon.

GunShyAssassin.com has posted an exclusive stream of Power Theory's "Colossus," from the band's recently released An Axe to Grind. Praised by critics for their energetic brand of traditional metal and stellar musicianship, Power Theory brings a modern edge to the classic NWOBHM style. Check out "Colossus" at this location. In other Power Theory news, the band recently welcomed guitarist Steve Stegg [Blood Feast, Sleepy Hollow, Tapping the Vein] into the fold. "Power Theory has been looking to add a second dual rhythm/lead guitarist since the end of the recording sessions for An Axe to Grind, but our commitments haven't given us the time to do anything but start to compile a list of potential candidates," guitarist Bob "BB" Ballinger explained.
"Steve is a great friend and supporter of the band, and has been a regular at our local shows; in fact he replaced me as the Colossus guitarist and played with Jay Pekala prior to his first Sleepy Hollow tenure. We would always jokingly added Steve as our top candidate when we discussed it, but knew he was very busy with Sleepy Hollow and there was no chance, so we moved on to other names" added BB. "Steve informed us he had become available in mid July and was interested in jamming to see if there was chemistry and it was evident from the first few minutes itwas a great fit for both Power Theory and Steve."
Power Theory has started work on the follow up to An Axe to Grind. The band will enter the studio in February to begin the recording process. Stay tuned for more details.
