ALARIC & ATRIARCH Split LP Streaming At BrooklynVegan

As the split LP with Oakland's ALARIC and Portland's ATRIARCH is just two weeks from official release via 20 Buck Spin, today BrooklynVegan are streaming the whole damn thing to gloomify your week RIGHT HERE.

Set for worldwide release on May 15th, the split LP offers three new ALARIC tracks on the A-side and two from ATRIARCH on the B-side, making for nearly a half-hour of brand new material as both bands are diligently crafting their next full-length releases for later this year. The two acts recently completed a short pre-release tour, showcasing new material from the LP to audiences up and down the West Coast. Orders for the split LP are being taken now via 20 Buck Spin.

ALARIC released their self-titled debut LP via 20 Buck Spin in October 2011 to incredible critical acclaim worldwide, the band's infectious execution of coalescing classic dark anarcho punk, new wave and Goth influences into their own unique entity, both haunting and instantly memorable. Some called it the album Amebix should have made. Zero Tolerance Magazine proclaimed without hyperbole, "Morbid, threatening and obsidian... Album of the Year by a long shot." Portland's ATRIARCH released their debut LP Forever The End in 2011 via Seventh Rule. A harrowing amalgam of death rock, black metal and doom, the band were quickly considered one to watch. Featuring past members of 20 Buck Spin alumni Graves At Sea and Trees, the band is currently in the studio recording their second LP and first for Profound Lore.

Hailing from Portland, OR, Atriarch features members of Graves At Sea, Trees, Final Conflict and Get Hustle. Vocalist Lenny Smith describes his Cascadian deathrock ensemble as "a living entity comprised of four parts, offering catharsis through sonic ritual where there is no god, there is no devil; there is an all encompassing force that connects all living things."

Formed in 2009, Atriarch sought out to combine elements of goth and deathrock while making sure to keep it heavy. On Atriarch's debut album, Forever the End, the band describes the lyrical themes as having an "aim to tear a hole in the veil that blinds us from our true selves." When asked to further describe that which fuels his lyrics, Smith states: "We are bombarded with ideals of a superficial shallow lifestyle, in which we are enslaved to maintain. Greed corruption fear and hate is the true face of this Self Serving way of life that we have come to call normal. Lose yourself inside the ritual and the veil will come crashing down around us all. "

Forever the End marks Seventh Rule Recording's 23rd full-length release; a number often graced within conspiracy theory.
