Cradle of Filth's Schoolcraft Will Host Dame-Nation V - The Music Joint Stage

Dame-Nation V is the fifth independent female fronted hard rock festival that signs bands from all parts of North America. www.dame-nation.com

The first North American female fronted hard rock fest, Dame-Nation™, will be hosting it's fifth annual event in Chicago, IL on August 15th, 2013.

Cradle of Filth's touring backing vocalist and pianist Schoolcraft will host Reggies Music Joint Stage. "Lindsay and I have a fond respect for one another in regards to personality, promoting and showcasing the talents of female singers and fronted bands. Schoolcraft will be returning for her third Dame-Nation appearance. I was excited to hear that she was chosen to join Cradle of Filth on tour this year. I'm extremely proud of her accomplishments as a musician", says Dame-Nation owner and producer Eric Sanchez.

Her biography states, "*Currently on tour as backing vocals and pianist for Cradle Of Filth: http://www.theorderofthedragon.com

After fronting various rock bands since her teens, Canadian native Schoolcraft felt it was time to do something very different: “It just felt right, the music I’ve always written could survive the song writing process with or without a band.” As the familiar face from Mary and The Black Lamb and the guest vocalist on Daedalean Complex’s album titled “A Rose For The Dead,” through her musical contributions, she says her solo effort feels like coming “Home”.

...With the release of her first EP “Rushing Through The Sky,” Schoolcraft describes it as “dark, beautiful, elegant, humble, and smart”. Thanks to contributing musicians such as Daedalus (Daedalean Complex) for orchestral collaboration and Kitty Thompson (Johnny Hollow) on cello, she was able to achieve her vision.

...Schoolcraft’s sound was honed from her years at The Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), where she received classical training in voice and piano..." http://arcanerecords.bandcamp.com

The fest will feature two stages; the main stage being the Rock Club Stage and the second stage being the Music Joint stage. Reggies Chicago is located at 2109 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60616.

Schoolcraft is a musician from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Her solo EP, Rushing Through The Sky, was released on September 25, 2012. It was announced this spring that Schoolcraft would be touring with Cradle of Filth as backing vocals and pianist.

Tickets will be available May 3rd, 2013. Reggies Chicago Music Joint is 21+. Tickets will be $10 or $18 for entrance to both The Music Joint and The Rock Club. For more information about Dame-Nation V please visit http://www.dame-nation.com

Cradle of Filth: "Frost on Her Pillow" New Awesome Video Clip Released!

Cradle of Filth released an awesome video clip for the track "Frost on Her Pillow" taken from the upcoming album "The Manticore and Other Horrors" which will be released October 29th (EU) via Peaceville Records and October 30, 2012 (NA) via Nuclear Blast USA. Check out below.

Cradle of Filth have gone on to become one of the UK’s most successful metal acts, known for their dynamic symphonic style of gothic black metal, along with the dark poetic lyrics from the hand of enigmatic front-man Dani Filth.

The title of this, Cradle of Filth’s tenth studio full-length, can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on Monsters; personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few, Manticore being the ravening title track. It is a song about a beautiful mythological horror that comes to be feared as the disfigurehead of foreign occupation in the Indian provinces.

The songs ‘Illicitus’ and ‘Pallid Reflection’ bare the sweet ingredients of vampirism and lycanthropy; the wicked ‘For Your Vulgar Delectation’ and ‘Frost On her Pillow’ are woven perversely into grim fairytales, whilst classic, monumental tracks like ‘The Abhorrent’ and ‘Siding With The Titans’ both extol tentacular Lovecraftian values.

Recorded in eight  weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins), Suffolk, the album is testament to the longevity of The ‘Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle’s (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew.

Singer Dani Filth had this to say on the new album:

‘This is our tenth commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!’

Cradle of Filth is also set to spread their darkness upon European lands with a tour throughout November & December.

Cradle of Filth ‘Midnight in the Labyrinth’ Record Store Day Special Release Strictly Limited Worldwide

Record Store Day Special Release Strictly Limited Worldwide

THE orchestral album from Dani Filth & his cohorts.

Midnight in the Labyrinth’ is the latest inspired work from the UK’s most successful extreme act & sets out to explore a more cinematic side with a soundtrack of classical & symphonic material; a style the band has always woven seamlessly into their compositions throughout their career.
Taking the most requested tracks from the first four official releases, Cradle of Filth have fulfilled audience desire by creating an album that is based on their most popular older tracks, but one that is delivered orchestrally to create a rich, haunting sonic landscape in the vein of soundtrack composers such as Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer.
Ten songs make up this 78 minute meisterwerk (including the addition of a thirteen minute aural seance that is totally unique to this release), indulging such COF classics as ‘Funeral In Carpathia’, ‘The Twisted Nails Of Faith’ and ‘Summer Dying Fast’, which has already been showcased on last year’s ‘Evermore Darkly’ EP to a more than rapturous audience response.
“To say that Cradle fans are looking forward to this April-scheduled offering is something of an understatement, but I feel this could reach out further beyond the Metal industry, as the album has a very strong cinematic and commercial appeal”

Cradle of Filth - Evermore Darkly (album montage)

Cradle of Filth - Evermore Darkly (album montage) by Peaceville

The UK’s premier extreme metal antagonists retUrn with their new mini-album which includes an accompanying DVD with documentary and full live performance.
A companion piece to last year’s triumphant ‘Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa’ album, the ‘Evermore Darkly’ CD/DVD package features new tracks and rarities, with a lengthy on-the-road documentary and a full live set filmed live at this year’s graspop metal meet in belgium, as well as the video for ‘Lilith Immaculate’.
The CD features brand new track ‘Thank Your Lucky Scars’, plus a special remix of ‘Forgive me Father’, courtesy of Rob C from Anthrax, an extended rendition of ‘Lilith Immaculate’, as well as tempered demo versions of three ‘Darkly, Darkly...’ songs. The mini-album closes with a special taster from Cradle of Filth’s impending orchestral project, in the form of a haunting, classic reworking of fan-favourite, ‘Summer Dying Fast’.
The ‘Evermore Darkly’ DVD contains footage from summer 2011, when Cradle of Filth embarked on a rapid spat of tours, accompanied by two eager filmmakers. The resulting documentary, ‘You Can’t Polish a Turd, But You Can Roll it in Glitter’, combined with performance and interview footage culminates in a forty five minute film of the not so glamorous reality of life in a touring band at work and play, as they trawl their way across europe over eight performances.

Heavy metal fan charged over T-shirt

A heavy metal music fan could face six months in jail over an allegedly offensive T-shirt.

Alexsei Vladmir Nikola, 34, was due to appear in court this morning on public nuisance charges after Brisbane police officers allegedly saw him wearing the shirt on George Street on May 6.

The shirt allegedly featured the words "Jesus is a c---" in large letters and shows a picture of a semi-naked, masturbating nun.

The fashion item is believed to be merchandise of the gothic-metal band Cradle of Filth.

The English band have a reputation for provocative and elaborate concerts and feature band members in corpse-like make up.

Mr Nikola, of Runcorn in Brisbane's south, was due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today but his case was adjourned in his absence.

He has not yet entered a plea to the charge.

The offence of public nuisance is characterised by behaviour that interferes, or is likely to interfere with the peaceful passage through, or enjoyment of, a public place by a member of the public.

The charge carries a maximum fine of $1000 or six months' jail.

Mr Nikola's case has been adjourned to October 14.
