CRYPTOPSY Release Lyric Video for "The Golden Square Mile"

Montreal extreme metal veterans CRYPTOPSY have released the official lyric video for the song "The Golden Square Mile."

The song comes off the band's self-titled release, which came out last fall and was greeted with mass approval from critics and long-time fans who have been thirsting for the return of CRYPTOPSY's tech-death glory days. Check out below the lyric video for "The Golden Square Mile".

Next week, CRYPTOPSY will join forces with CATTLE DECAPITATION and DECREPIT BIRTH for a 24-date trek across Europe. The tour will kick off on April 12th at Helvete in Oberhausen, Germany and conclude with an appearance at the Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg, Holland on May 5th.

Montreal extreme metal veterans CRYPTOPSY are set to embark upon a 24-date European tour with CATTLE DECAPITATION and DECREPIT BIRTH. The tour will kick off on April 12th at Helvete in Oberhausen, Germany and conclude with an appearance at the Neurotic Deathfest in Tilburg, Holland on May 5th.

Cryptopsy the extreme metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada during the past twenty years released six studio albums, a live album and an EP. This elder metal monster with vast experience and knowledge bring to us a self-release, solid, complex, technical vicious and furious death metal album full of ability with different passages, almost in the category of progressive, with some jazz/alternative lines and other styles and techniques that make this yet to release album “Cryptopsy” one of the most complex and heaviest tech-death metal work of the year without doubt. We are absorbed by this magnificent death metal album, with a powerful sound since the beginning of the album and a perfect execution of combining death with many others styles, the creativity of these experts is explored in a higher level. Musics such as “Two-Pound Torch”, “Red-Skinned Scapegoat” and “Amputated Enigma” are brilliant, heavy, with an alternative and complicated progression… with a new touch of innovation and due to experience, nerve and perfectionism I can only say that this album deserves (8.5/10).

CRYPTOPSY Debuts Brand New Track "The Golden Square Mile"

As members of the Decibel Magazine Hall of Fame, it seems only natural that death metal legends Cryptopsy team up with the 'zine to unleash a brand new track off their forthcoming, self-titled album. In a Deciblog exclusive, the song "The Golden Square Mile," which deals with an unsolved murder that took place in the band's native Montreal is currently streaming at this location. 

Cryptopsy, which stands as a furious return to the band's extreme, tech-minded roots, will be available the week of September 11th to those who pre-ordered from the band directly at www.cryptopsy.ca. Official street dates will vary by region. The album was produced by Chris Donaldson and Cryptopsy and engineered and mixed by Chris Donaldson.

Cryptopsy is an extreme metal band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  During the past twenty years, Cryptopsy have wreaked havoc throughout the metal genre by releasing six studio albums (Blasphemy Made Flesh, None So Vile, Whisper Supremacy, And Then You'll Beg, Once Was Not and The Unspoken King), a live album (None So Live) and an EP (Ungentle Exhumation), which have confronted and invigorated the conventional approach to writing extreme music.  Now in 2012, Cryptopsy have returned to their roots in order to craft their newest endeavor entitled Cryptopsy.  The band has said that Cryptopsy will be their most brutal, technical and dynamic offering as of yet.
