Metal Blade Records signs Týr

Faroe Islands, folk metal band Týr has signed a deal with Metal Blade Records, before, the band had been working with Napalm Records. The band commented:

"May this be the start of great things to come for Týr, and hopefully also for Metal Blade Records. Although admittedly even the very best of bands would be hard pressed to outdo what other bands have already done on Metal Blade Records."

ANTROPOMORPHIA streaming "Psuchagogia" from upcoming "Evangelivm Nekromantia"

Dutch, Death Metallers ANTROPOMORPHIA recently signed a deal with Metal Blade Records. The new album "Evangelivm Nekromantia" will be released in Europe at October 22 2012 and the next day in the North America. The album was recorded during 2011 and mastered by Tore Stjerna in Necromorbus Studios.

AntropomorphiA was created under the influence from bands such as Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Infernäl Mäjesty and Bathory in a tiny town in Holland in 1989.

Over the years they got more and more brutal, released several demos and the Necromantic Love Songs MCD in 1993, but went on a hiatus in the late 90s since other bands became more important.

Fast forward 2009 when other projects moved into the background, AntropomorphiA got re-activated. The line-up is still the same, original members, F (vox/guitar), M (drums), S (bass) form the trinity that is AntropomorphiA till this day.

In early 2011 AntropomorphiA made their first live appearance since 2001 at the Neurotic Deathfest where they put up a convincing brutal show.

At the end of 2011 most of the new record was recorded and the band is taking their time to make sure this album is something more, something huge, resulting in Evangelivm Nekromantia - an album consisting of nine tracks, divided into three chapters of each three songs. Lyrically driven by nekrophilae, murder, necromancy and necrolesbian lust. Mastered at Necromorbus Studios by Tore Stjerna.

KING OF ASGARD posted new track "The Nine Worlds Burn"

Swedish Viking Metallers KING OF ASGARD have posted a new track for the song "The Nine Worlds Burn". The song comes off the upcoming album  '…to North' that will be released July 27th/30th via Metal Blade Records as a Digi-CD and on vinyl. The track can be heard below.

KING OF ASGARD made an astonishing impact on the scene with their debut album Fi'mbulvintr, released in 2010. After playing a bunch of festivals and club shows in 2010 and 2011, KING OF ASGARD have now finished recording their second album …to North at the infamous Sonic Train Studios with engineer Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND) at the helm.

The album will feature two guest musicians. Comments the band: "First out is female vocalist Heléne Blad whom did a guest appearance on "Fi'mbulvintr" as well. This time around she's present on the album opener, "The Nine Worlds Burn", doing an epic folk inspired vocal part. She's been a longtime friend of the band and is a professionally schooled folk singer et cetera. She was also once, for a short while, the keyboardist of the KING OF ASGARD predecessor Mithotyn. The second appearance on "…to North" presents the extremely talented guitarist Jimmy Hedlund. Yet another friend known from bands such as Falconer and Supreme Majesty. He shreds two guitar solos on the song "Gap of Ginnungs". Least say, amazing stuff and truly breathtaking!"

Comments bassist Jonas Albrektsson on the recording process and what to expect from …to North: "The "…To North" master just arrived and it sounds astonishing! Andy LaRocque made a great job on the production and the mastering along with Olof Berggren. It's upright and powerful. We feel very proud of what we achieved on this recording and merely the sound of it makes it a worthy follow-up to the firstborn "Fi'mbulvintr". Songs and sounds came out much as of what we planned, with power and a great variety. "…To North" takes off pretty much where "Fi'mbulvintr" left off so to say, with a natural development, more varied songs and structures. It's a development of our sound which will be recognized by old fans as well as bring some new ones to the horde. This time around I've been more involved in the writing process along with Karl, which kind of shines through, giving the songs a wider perspective. Expect some very strong songs on "…To North", where epic meets with brutality! The lyrical theme this time is basically in the same vein but has different twists. Not as obvious as before. "…To North" will make The Nine Worlds Burn…and Varberg was just left behind."

AS I LAY DYING release new video for "Paralyzed" from "Decas"

The band is currently in writing mode for their fifth full length album As I Lay Dying ended 2011, the year of their tenth anniversary as a band, with an extremely successful headlining tour. The Decade of Destruction Tour ran November-December through the US. While on the tour, the band captured live footage from several shows. The footage was edited by the band's own Nick Hipa into what has become the band's next video: Paralyzed. The video encapsulates As I Lay Dying in a special moment in time; their tenth anniversary tour in front of sold-out crowds full of devoted fans. The video is available now via the band's youtube channel HERE. As I Lay Dying are currently writing their fifth album and are preparing to enter the studio this April. The producer, title, art and all other details will be released over the next few months. Listed among Decibel’s “Top 25 Most Anticipated Extreme Records Of 2012,” and crowned “pure death metal mastery from one of the best bands the genre has ever produced” in an early review by Zero Tolerance, Torture was produced by Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan at his own Mana Recording Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida as well as Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas.

CANNIBAL CORPSE will kick off their official U.S. headlining tour this April. The inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour, announced late last week, will feature the long-awaited stateside return of Polish blackened death metal overlords Behemoth, as well as support from Swedish black metal provocateurs Watain, Dutch prog mystics The Devil's Blood and Swedish old-school occultists In Solitude. The near month-long run, presented by Metal Blade Records, IndieMerchStore.com, FYE, ESP Guitars and Good Fight Entertainment, will commence on April 11 in Columbus, Ohio and level 23 cities before coming to a ceremonial close on May 12 in New York City.
