ThanatoSchizO - new album title and release date

EN

The new ThanatoSchizO album will be called Origami and is set to be released in October by Major Label Industries. This semi-acoustic CD will include guest appearances from the likes of Fadomorse, Banda de Música de Mateus (brass and woodwind ensemble), alongside many other surprises, such as the use of instruments like the theremin, cavaquinho and balalaika. The band will soon unveil the album cover as well as the name of the mastering studio.

After a one year period of absence from the spotlight, Portuguese metal band ThanatoSchizO emerged from their creative lair and is ready to reveal some more aspects concerning their latest work.

As previously disclosed, the new album is going to comprise songs from previous records but with a different touch, approach and edge to them. The more harsh and heavy melodies are going to give place to a more acoustic, experimental and ethnic side of the band’s enterprise.

“In this album you will encounter a different side of the band and discover that each musician has taken on a journey of self-discovery through music. The recording process was very pungent, rewarding, rich and exciting. No emotions were left out and what you will listen to is what we truly feel about previously recorded songs that hold a tremendous meaning to us”, states vocalist Patrícia Rodrigues.

The name chosen for the fifth album of their career is ORIGAMI and it will be released on October by Major Label Industries. The band further adds that this work will include guest appearances from Fadomorse (a Portuguese group that mixes national folk music with Frank Zappa's delirious moments), Banda de Música de Mateus (a local brass and woodwind ensemble), alongside many other surprises, such as the use of unusual instruments like the theremin, cavaquinho and balalaika, which will engrave a very unique and ethnical scent on the songs.

About the song selection that will be in ORIGAMI, Patrícia Rodrigues commented: “We thought carefully about the songs we wanted to include in the album and chose a few that are quite representative of our work and evolution throughout these past thirteen (13) years. They have a different layout, they are the product of a makeover, but they are, in their core, the same songs, portraying the same meaning yet with a stronger vibe and sound. You will be able to listen to, for example: Nightmares Within, Sublime Loss, Sweet Suicidal Serenade or (Un)Bearable Certainty.”

In due time, the band will reveal more exciting details about this glorious opus, including the album’s cover and the person/studio in charge of the mastering!

ThanatoSchizO: 3rd video-report of the new album

Portuguese avant-garde maniacs THANATOSCHIZO have uploaded the third in a series of video reports from the recording sessions for the band's new semi-acoustic album. The band choseRAWoid (a theme that merges RAW from the group's first album, Schizo Level, and Void from their third release, Turbulence) as the song which has been gradually portrayed in these video blogs.

ThanatoSchizO - 5th album

recording sessions (Vlog III)

THANATOSCHIZO is recording the new CD in two different facilities: Teatro de Vila Real (in their hometown, Vila Real) and the group's own Blind & Lost Studios in Santa Marta de Penaguião, Portugal. For the first time, the band members are assuming the production duties themselves and are being assisted by sound engineers Pedro Cabral and Paulo Almeida.

THANATOSCHIZO’s guitarist Guilhermino Martins states the following about the current phase of the recording process:

"It has been a long journey for us, full of surprises, which all of you will get to know in due time.

As time went by, we felt the need to use more and more traditional and orchestral instruments in these songs and that took some more time to find the perfect people to play. Take for instanceRAWoid, as it merges one of our all-time extreme themes - RAW - and the ethnic aeons of Void into a final somehow Balkan song. We are assembling the orchestra, the percussion, the traditional instruments and that takes time. A lot of time, in fact! In this particular song, we've gathered the precious help of Ricardo Silveira, who orchestrated the brass section and Banda de Música de Mateus, who are featured on the song/video.

Original songs:

RAW: http://www.enctsonm.com/tso/zoomcode/downloads/ThanatoSchizO-RAW.mp3

Void: http://www.enctsonm.com/tso/zoomcode/downloads/ThanatoSchizO-Void.mp3

We are now starting the epic process of mixing all the tracks. It won't be easy, I'm sure but I foresee this album as our ultimate tour de force.

Furthermore, we have already found the name for our album. Check in for some news in two weeks and you'll get its name!"

The CD will be released by Major Label Industries and will contain reworked songs from all THANATOSCHIZO’s albums — Schizo Level, InsomniousNightLift, Turbulence and Zoom Code — featuring an even more avant-garde approach with ethnical and progressive distinctive touches, already hinted on the band's regular releases.

Temas originais:

RAW: http://www.enctsonm.com/tso/zoomcode/downloads/ThanatoSchizO-RAW.mp3

Void: http://www.enctsonm.com/tso/zoomcode/downloads/ThanatoSchizO-Void.mp3
