Viking Thrash Metal band THE HORDE enter studio to record their second full length album

On the 1st of November Brutal Viking Thrash Metal masters THE HORDE will enter The Dungeon of Doom with Drew Webster to record their second full length album, third release over all, entitled "Destroyer... Slayer of Men" which is set to be released in 2014 by Abyss Records.

Tim the guitarist from THE HORDE had this to say about the upcoming album:

"We are excited to finally start the recording process for our 3rd album. Some of the song titles are.... 'Usurper Berzerker', 'Conquering of the Firewyrm', 'Behold in Despair' and many others plus a special track at the end for fans of our 1st CD. We look forward to seeing everybody when we are out on tour next year!"

Illinois based Viking Thrashers The HORDE are currently writing material for their 3rd full length album which is set to be released on Abyss Records later this year. Title and release date have not been confirmed at this time. Some early song titles are: Conquering of the Firevurm, Usurper Berzerker, Darkened Embers, Behold in Despair, Destroyer... Slayer of Men and Pray Hater. The track Pray Hater was recorded by Drew Webster at the Dungeon of Doom and is available now below.

In other the HORDE news; in late 2012 Tim Matthews, Guitarist for the Horde, was officially endorsed by Krashburn Guitars. Krashburn built a custom guitar for Tim by the name of Mjolnir (pictured below).

This is real metal, played by real men of metal, for  real fans of metal. Members of The HORDE have  been playing together in one form or another for the  better part of two decades, having played in past regional bands from the area. With marked influence from their prior groups, The HORDE brings the perfect mix of headbanging Mosh pit chaos, epic Sword & Sorcerer monster battles, and just the slightest touch of Doom.

The HORDE has shared the stage with the likes of Exodus, 3 Inches of Blood, Job For a Cowboy, Black Dahlia Murder, Soilent Green, Skeletonwitch, The Red Chord and many others... 

Influences are the likes of Venom, Celtic Frost, Metallica, Destruction, Kreator, Motorhead, Slayer, Cro-Mags, and Iron Maiden. They recently inked a record deal with the mighty Abyss Records for their 3rd release due late next year in 2013...

Prepare for the HORDE to take a seat amongst the Skulled thrones of previous metal masters and stand proud amongst their brothers in arms.

THE HORDE Announces New Drummer

Illinois-based Vikings thrashers THE HORDE has officially added drummer Travis Scudder to their lineup. The 20-year-old skin-basher has stepped in to replace the recently departed James Whitehurst, who left the band for personal reasons. Scudder also plays with Rock Island, Illinois black metal outfit SEPT OF MEMNON.   

THE HORDE are currently working furiously on material for their next epic slab of Viking Thrash to be released in CD and vinyl format in the fall of 2013 by Abyss Records.

THE HORDE Joins Abyss Records

Illinois-based Vikings thrashers THE HORDE have officially signed with Abyss Records for the follow-up for the release to 2011's Thy Blackened Reign. Guitarist Tim Matthews comments,  

"The HORDE are thrilled to have signed with ABYSS Records.  This is a match made in Valhalla as they will suit up in their armor and go to war with us as we ride into the flames of battle!
We are currently working on our third album, which has the working title Destroyer... Slayer of Men.  Some song titles are "Pray Hater", "10,000 Strong" and "Firevurm".  Will be entering Mercenary Digital Studios in Zion, IL at some point this winter to record with Scott Creekmore."    

THE HORDE is slated to appear at Spring Bash IV in April of 2013 in Milwaukee, WI alongside DECEASED, MORTA SKULD and other acts TBA. More US festival appearances for 2013 are in the works. THE HORDE Give Tour Recap; Announce Video Shoot For "Odin's Blood"

Coming off a fall tour that saw them lay waste to the Midwestern section of the US, THE HORDE guitarist Tim Matthews has issued the following recap of their experience on the road. 

"THE HORDE had a blast pillaging every fucking village we could during our tour of the Midwest.  Shit was destroyed, the women fondled and the decibels of our stacks were heard for miles!  We look forward to more touring next year when we visit both coasts!  Thanks to all of the bands we shared the  battlefield with and also to all of the people that put us up for the night.  We will be back..."  

THE HORDE was on the road in support of their most recent release, Thy Blackened Reign, out now on Stormspell Records. Praised for its "aggressive, yet epic music..." by TheMetalReview.com, Thy Blackened Reign combines monstrous groove with fierce Viking Thrash for a sound that's both destructive and impossible to resist. Plans for a more extended 2012 tour are being detailed currently, but in the meantime, the band has hooked up with Origin Media Productions to shoot a video for the song, "Odin's Blood." Described as "Metal as fuck!" by Matthews, the video is slated to be released before the end of the year.

THE HORDE Set To Release Thy Blackened Reign Through Stormspell Records

Viking Thrash band THE HORDE (IL) has inked a deal with STORMSPELL RECORDS.  Theirsophmore album, entitled Thy Blackened Reign is set for a September release.  Commented the band: "We are all very happy to be a part of the Stormspell roster," said guitarist Tim Matthews.
