Catania, Sicily, ambient black metal one man band Lord Agheros has for stream the track "Geras" (the tenth son, the personification of age) taken off of the newest album "Demiurgo" released November 26th, 2012 through My Kingdom Music. The track can be streamed below.

“Demiurgo”, with its two indivisible souls, is a wonderful atmospheric piece of music that fits in well with these dark times. Musically it is a perfect balance between the obscure and extreme Black Metal elements overwhelmed with atmospheric and Ambient parts, so to represent in sounds the real essence of this decadent era.

LORD AGHEROS Unveils New Video “Thanatos”

I usually don´t analyze music videos, normally  from time to time appears one or another by which I´m interested and thus arises the desire to do the review and this is the case. When I reviewed “Demiurgo” the latest album of Lord Agheros I found something more than just a good work to listen, something more than entertainment, even more than art, I found inspiration, motivation, justice, beauty, melancholy, sadness through a vast and complete feast of music. I mean if you already listened to this atmospheric symphony then you know what I´m talking about, it´s plain and simple to understand the journey of the Human soul during our existence and that we are “Demiurgo´s” (creators) of ourselves, shaping the material hidden in us. This was the main reason why I wanted so much to review Lord Agheros` music video for the song “Thanatos” in a more personal perspective and not just as a professional reviewer.

“Thanatos” in the Greek Mythology is one of the sons of Nix and Erebo and represents the death, the inevitable fate of man that torments our souls but at the same time brings a sense of relief in the end of the existence and that teach us to “expect the unexpected”.

The video shows what appears to be the inside of a house that I deliberately wanted to represent as the inside of Human being, the soul (that holds “Demiurgo”) that as in the video sometimes is dark and evil and other times is bright and good. This is a well conceived and beautiful video that can be analyzed by anyone according to what you think of it but clearly demonstrates the message of “Thanatos” with phrases and lyrics scattered through it. In general praises harmoniously the music of Lord Agheros. Check it out below.

... Lord Agheros once again pulled out a colossal journey and I have to say even the gods knelt before him with this epic ode to the Greek mythology and Mortal´s soul. My soul is in piece!

PEDRO RIBEIRO  - Gerassimos Evangelou you are the solo project named Lord Agherus and “Demiurgo” is your fourth full-length release. Despite the fact that you are a one man band did you had any help in the production of the album?

Gerassimos Evangelou - not, all the musical context behind Lord Agheros must stem from a single soul. The only exception in the prologue narrated by a female voice.

PR - Did you find many stones blocking your creative journey through shadows and light? Tell us about the process of the making of “Demiurgo”.

GE - Having had a complete idea of what I wanted to do, everything flowed as if it were already written. All that remained was to give light and the results were exactly what I hoped for.

PR - What were your inspirations for the complex scenical representation of this work? Why the Greek mythology?

GE - Light, shadow, dualism, the two sides that the human mind is even if we try to disguise in our time can never erase what we really are. The figure of this shaper is also what we are in the more 'depth of our ego. Everything led back to Greek roots

PR - Let’s talk about the name of the album… how does the god (“Demiurgo”) is related to the history you tell?

GE - Demiurg is the heavenly craftsman, he who shapes the material already exists. I made the music and I forged my "I" through it telling strengths and weaknesses of man.

PR -Explain to us the meaning of the two Chapters (The night in the infernal reign and the night in the human world). What´s the link between these realms and the dualistic soul idea?

GE - The night in the hell realm and all its children represent the dark side of every soul, the other chapter represents the feelings more pure but they are always linked to another. There can be a predominance without the other there exists

PR - I was able to find a chain linking all the elements of the work…I found that in the creation of this “labyrinthic” path through the sons of Erebo and Nix you created a specific order with the gods. Am I right? 

GE - Not exactly, it is the only god represented by Demiurgo, Erebus and Nyx are the undisputed masters of their realms, in fact the two sides of the person that create children that represent the characteristics of the two,

PR - What´s the main goal of this work? Do you pretend to show the strong and fragile side of Human existence?

GE - Here you're absolutely right, everything is metaphorically and mythologically due to emotions and to the sides show that a soul in its journey.

PR - Do you portray yourself in this magical painting where gods give life to our feelings and emotions?

GE - I'm just the Demiurgo of myself, like you or all of you, just shape the material that is hidden in us.

PR - Do you have a new work in mind for a near future?

GE - Just watch out of window for to create something ...

Lord Agheros: The gods knelt before him with "Demiurgo"

In the beginning there was not light only the tenebrous chaos reigned during a time of darkness. The first moments of creation occurred during total blackness. Erebo and Nix, dark and night, emerged with the unfolding of primordial Chaos and with them born the luminosity and day as also mortals´ virtues and infamies that were their sons. The Human soul was created and divided with darkness and light and a deep confrontation began within our bodies, a battle between good and evil to balance our soul.

A Colossal has seen the dark of night and light of day; it walked into the depths of harsh lands of fire and saw lost souls and stepped in mortals’ fertile soil and bathed in moonlight. Now the Colossal is free in a black symphony form called “Demiurgo”. The creator is the solo artist Lord Agheros, the mastermind of this epic musical journey through the personification of feelings, values, slanders and emotions… an inspiring work based on Greek mythology that divides the Human soul in two, the evil and the good, through Erebo´s and Nix´s sons. The two distinct parts of the soul are represented by two chapters (Chapter I – the night in the infernal reign – Extreme music; Chapter II – the night in the Human world – Atmospheric music) in a cruel but moving concoction of classical/symphonic extreme ambient metal.

Demiurgo the creator of Universe is the omnipotent figure and link between these dualities (good and evil/dark and light) in the Human soul, he functions as the key to the door of creation, he is the mutable music of life, the core of everything and nothing, the moulder of the whole in his own image. The name of the album (“Demiurgo”) is the concept of creation of Erebo and Nix and performs also (in my view) other purport, to give life to the music itself.

I’ve been able to find a chain in this complex experience, a sequence with a specific order that tells a history almost as a scenical/theatrical erection. Gerassimos Evangelou, writer, composer and instrumentist of this artistic full-length carries us through the initial infinity, to the beginning until the end. The first Chapter is the strongest part of the album with a blend of pure black metal with an organic ambient touch, piano melodies, clean guitar phrases, classic guitar lines, string and chorus synths, a full throttle machine unleashing music mayhem.  The second Chapter drops the destructive force of the first part and takes a melancholic, gloomy and atmospheric path with a structure defined by classic music with a synthetic mixture to give a deeper environment to the songs. After the storm the calm arrives, this is the perfect balance between black metal and classic ambience, a truly vibrant symphony of evil and good.
